Singapore Airlines has announced that from late October 2020 the First Class Suites, Business Class and Premium Economy on the seasonal (summer) A380 service between Auckland and Singapore will be upgraded to its latest seating experience.
This announcement will be welcome news for Fine Travel clients who travel with Singapore Airlines to the UK and Europe over this period with the 471-seat A380 offering six Suites, 78 Business Class seats and 44 Premium Economy seats.
Suite life
The new Singapore Airlines’ First Class Suites offer an experience that appears closer to a studio apartment than an aircraft.
Each First Class Suite features a standalone, luxurious, 45-degree reclining and swivelling seat, which is richly upholstered in full-grain leather by Poltrona Frau. When it's time to sleep, there is a separate lie-flat single bed (which stows away when not required). If you’re travelling as a couple, there’s the option to convert into a double Suite, with the centre divider removed to create a double bed.
During your flight, you’ll be able to make the most of the 32-inch touch-screen TV, and experience the enhanced KrisWorld entertainment system through noise-cancelling headphones. As a bonus, the system will save any playlists and entertainment preferences for the next time you travel.
Sit all the way back with Business Class
In Business Class the A380 experience is modernised with a more contemporary design than the existing A380 seating configuration. You’ll be treated to a hand-stitched full-grain leather chair that reclines all the way into a lie-flat bed.
The stand out new feature is that when booking centre seats in Business Class, there’s a personal divider that you can choose to have raised as a separator, or you can lower it right down and turn the two seats into one double bed.
Keep yourself occupied with Singapore Airlines’ entertainment system, which features an 18-inch touch-screen monitor and noise-cancelling headphones. Just like in the Suites, it’ll save your preferences for future fights.
Stretch out with premium economy
It’s spacious, and the new wider seat will recline (up to a generous eight inches) so you can stretch right out to the 38-inch seat pitch. Premium Economy also benefits from having its own bathroom. There are 1800 entertainment options to choose from, including movies, TV shows, music, games and apps, all accessible on a 13.3-inch touch-screen monitor with noise-cancelling headphones.
Booking the Singapore Airlines A380 to the UK and Europe
Singapore Airlines continues to be one of the most popular Business Class choices for Fine Travel's clients travelling to the UK and Europe and it featured in our Top 5 Business Class Airlines of 2019. As the A380 only operates on a seasonal basis (over the New Zealand summer) it may not be available out of Auckland on all guests preferred travel dates.
The A380 also offers the Singapore Airlines Book the Cook Service, allowing First Class, Business Class and Premium Economy guests the opportunity to pre-order meals from a broader pre-departure menu.
We work with Singapore Airlines to offer our clients discounted Business Class airfares as they come on sale. Find out more on our dedicated UK / Europe Business Class Specials Page.
